Discover Hanoi: A Free Walking Tour You Won’t Want to Miss
Introduction to Hanoi
Consistently voted as one of the world’s best value cities to visit by prestigious travel websites and magazines like TripAdvisor, PriceofTravel, and Sun Daily, Hanoi is a must-see destination in Vietnam. While the city boasts modern high-rise towers and large commercial centers, it has preserved its iconic charm with old houses, ancient temples, pagodas, and historical sites. Many visitors view Hanoi as a mere stopover en route to Halong Bay, but we aim to change that perception.
Why Offer a Free Tour?
Why not?
We believe that sharing our love for Hanoi and expressing our gratitude to our valued customers who book Halong Bay cruises with us should be free. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to connect with you, understand your expectations for Hanoi and Halong Bay, exchange thoughts and ideas, and help you experience a part of our culture. We promise a fun and meaningful tour.
What Do We Mean by FREE?
Our tour is completely free, and our guide will show you the essence of Hanoi’s 36 guilds and streets. The tour is on a shared basis with a maximum of 7 persons per tour.
*If you wish to enjoy egg coffee during the trip, let us know, and we can take you to a great place! (Drink bills are settled on your own).
Tour Highlights
Our brief itinerary includes: Hang Trong – St. Joseph Cathedral – Hoan Kiem Lake – Opera House – Nguyen Huu Huan – Hang Ma – Hang Giay – Dong Xuan Market – Bach Ma Temple
- St. Joseph Cathedral
- Starting from our office at 72 Hang Trong Street, we head to 40 Nha Chung Street to visit the St. Joseph Cathedral, a French colonial architectural marvel resembling Notre Dame de Paris. Besides its impressive architecture, the Cathedral is a bustling spot where you can see street stalls, high-end restaurants, groups of friends, and couples taking wedding photos.
- Hoan Kiem Lake
- From the Cathedral, our guide will take you to Hoan Kiem Lake, the most beautiful flower basket in Hanoi’s heart. Here, you can mingle with pedestrians, visit Ngoc Son Temple, and take photos with your companions.
- Hanoi Opera House
- Continuing our walking tour, we visit another French architectural gem: the Hanoi Opera House, one of the city’s cultural and architectural landmarks.
- Hang Ma and Hang Giay Streets
- Bring a good camera for striking pictures at Hang Ma Street and Hang Giay Street, where colorful toys and votive offerings are sold.
- Dong Xuan Market
- At the West end of Hanoi Old Quarter, Dong Xuan Market is the largest market in Hanoi, offering everything from foodstuffs and household goods to clothes and jewelry at cheap prices.
- Bach Ma Temple
- Our final destination is Bach Ma Temple, the city’s oldest temple and one of the four guardian god temples in Hanoi (along with Voi Phuc Temple, Kim Lien Temple, and Quan Thanh Temple).
